YUU
Yuu began dancing as a child, first exploring hip hop and girls style at a local studio before discovering soul dance and waacking in junior high school.
These styles became the foundation of Yuu’s originality and unique approach, blending influences from across genres into expressive performances that go beyond traditional boundaries.
With 15 years of training and experience, Yuu continues to evolve as both a dancer and performer, known for soulful grooves and a strong sense of musicality.
Yuu’s standout achievements include performing with the team Mojo D’soul at JAPAN DANCE DELIGHT, one of the most prestigious dance competitions in Japan, as well as appearances at showcases and events that showcase a constantly expanding style and artistry.
In Yuu’s class at Passion, students can expect fun, soulful, groovy vibes while learning foundational grooves, musicality, and the freedom to express themselves authentically.
Inspired by classic R&B, soul, and funk from the ’70s to 2000s, Yuu draws from artists like Sade, Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, Marvin Gaye, and Meshell Ndegeocello to create a soundtrack that fuels both movement and emotion.
The atmosphere of Yuu’s class is chill, uplifting, and creative—a space where everyone is encouraged to find their own style, enjoy the music, and connect with others through dance.
Yuu’s goal is to ensure students not only pick up new skills but also walk away with a deeper love for dance and music that lasts a lifetime.
Yuu lives by the belief: “Skills and steps are important, but it’s even more important to take what you learn, make it your own, and find your own way of feeling the music and dance.”
Fun fact: Yuu loves mixing soul, waacking, and old-school grooves—and can’t help grooving whenever good music plays!
