William Boquiron
William’s dance journey began at just 8 years old, when his older sisters introduced him to You Got Served and Honey. From that moment on, he was hooked—mimicking every move the Jabbawockeez laid down, and diving deep into styles like popping, isolation, and tutting. Now, with over 20 years of dance experience (and more than 10 professionally), William has crafted a unique choreographic style grounded in hip hop and refined by years of soulful practice.
William has competed and performed with prestigious crews like Prestige Dance Crew and IDCO, earning his stripes in New Zealand’s high-level competition scene at HHI and scoring 1st place with IDCO at the very first Upgrade dance competition. His dance journey has taken him across the globe—from teaching in the Philippines, to performing in Russia for a New Year’s event. In 2020, he trained under Brian Puspos’s first dance program, deepening his craft and passion.
In William’s class at Passion, students can expect a space full of fun, soul, and safety. His teaching is rooted in intention and self-expression, where "less is more" and every movement carries purpose. Whether calm or sweaty, students leave class feeling seen, supported, and connected to the music.
William’s style is all about precision, feeling, and musicality—where the message doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. Inspired by movement that speaks through subtlety and soul, he encourages dancers to let the music lead and stay true to themselves.
His intention:“Prioritise feeling good and putting the music first.”
His mantra: Hinay Sapul (so important, he even got it tattooed!).
