Lowell Demetita
Lowell Demetita is an artist born and raised in Melbourne, with a dance journey spanning over 20 years. Since 2005, he has explored a wide range of street dance styles—from popping and hip hop to krump—cultivating a deep appreciation for the richness of movement across forms.
His practice blends choreography, freestyle, teaching, mentorship, and creative direction across stage and film. Lowell has made a lasting impact within Melbourne’s dance scene through his award-winning choreography and community-driven initiatives. These include champion titles at Grounded: Battle of the Arts (2015 & 2016), and programs such as Project Humble: Blueprint, Support the Homies fundraiser, Melbourne’s Own, and the AUS/NZ Dance Leader Fellowship.
In 2017, he founded Inner Movement, a platform offering coaching and dance events centred around self-discovery and personal growth. At the heart of Lowell’s work is his passion for teaching and sharing dance.
He values the connections built through this process and sees it as one of the most nourishing aspects of his artistic journey.
As one of the Co-Directors of Passion Studio, he continues to explore how dance can be used to empower individuals and uplift community culture in meaningful ways.
