Celina Torres

Celina’s dance journey began at just 5 years old when she followed her best friend into a local ballet class—and never looked back. With over 20 years of experience, she started with ballet and jazz before expanding into contemporary and hip hop, training for 8 years at Neverland Studios in New Zealand. She later returned as a teacher and crew mentor, guiding dancers there for 5 years.

She holds a Bachelor of Contemporary Dance from Unitec and has trained, competed, and performed both nationally and internationally. As part of IDCO, she placed 4th at Hip Hop International in 2016 and 2017. Since stepping into the battle scene in 2022, she’s earned standout results including 1st Place at Projekt Feel Good, Runner Up at Loose Change, Set It Off Vol. 1, Donsteppa 3v3, and Top Female at The Intersection Qualifier. She also featured in a battle exhibition at Battlezone NZ.

While living in Auckland, Celina directed and taught a dance initiative called Sunday Sessions, focused on community, creative expression, and positive well-being.

Now based in Melbourne, she continues to carry that intention into every class she teaches.

At Passion, Celina offers a warm and expressive space rooted in hip hop, house, and contemporary foundations. Her playlists are filled with R&B and groove-heavy tracks—think Jhene Aiko, Kehlani, Summer Walker, Bryson Tiller, KAYTRANADA, and Chris Brown—creating the perfect atmosphere for dancers to explore musicality, intention, and artistry.

Expect a class that’s nurturing, soulful, and confidence-building. Celina’s goal is to help students feel supported, seen, and encouraged to push beyond what they think they’re capable of.

Her personal belief: "Dance and art have the generous ability to transcend time. It’s a beautiful thing to learn it, experience it, and share it with others."

Fun fact: At 19, she memorised every single lyric to Juicy by The Notorious B.I.G.—and still raps it word-for-word. "Churrr."
